Semarang, 21 February 2023 – Indonesian Literature Study Program, Diponegoro University, received a visit from the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, Pancasakti University (UPS) Tegal. Pancasakti University (UPS) Tegal itself is a private university in Central Java. The UPS visit to the Undip Indonesian Literature Study Program was represented by Syamsul Anwar, M.Pd. as Head of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program at UPS Tegal, and several other UPS lecturers. Their arrival was warmly welcomed by Dr. Sukarjo Waluyo, M.Hum as Chair of the Undip Indonesian Literature Study Program. The meeting is a form of hospitality between educational institutions. The meeting of the two parties discussed various matters, one of which was the plan for cross-sector collaboration between the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program UPS Tegal and the Indonesian Literature Study Program Undip.
Tegal and Semarang are two areas that have quite different cultural values. The city of Tegal itself has strong traditions and cultural characteristics, such as the tradition of drinking tea, the mudun lembah tradition, the mutih tradition, and many others. These various cultures and traditions will certainly influence the values ​​and foundations of Tegal Pancasakti University (UPS). Likewise with Semarang and Undip. The culture in Semarang will certainly influence the values ​​and foundations of Diponegoro University. Therefore, it is possible to hold cooperation so that both parties can exchange information about these cultural differences.
With this meeting, the Undergraduate Program in Indonesian Literature, the Faculty of Cultural Sciences Undip, and the Pancasakti University of Tegal agreed to carry out joint activities. The activity is in the form of a national forensic linguistics webinar which will be conducted online on May 11, 2023.
Dr. Sukarjo Waluyo, M.Hum as Head of the Undip Indonesian Literature Study Program hopes that in the future there will be good cooperation and relations between the UPS Tegal Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program and the Undip Indonesian Literature Study Program.
