Writing is profound evidence of human intellectual evolution. The Malay-Speaking World itself emerged into the world civilization with its writing culture paradigm. This Visiting Professor will explore why the Malays emphasize writing culture colored by conquest, trade, religious transformation, and intellectual turmoil in its historical trajectory.
