The series of events for the Summer Course BIPA 2022 which was held for 7 (seven) days ran enthusiastically. Starting on August 8, 2022, the Summer Course BIPA 2022 series will be closed on Sunday, August 14, 2022.
The overall smooth running of the Summer Course BIPA 2022 event cannot be separated from the role of the PIC for the event Laura Andri Retno, S.S., M.A. who had prepared this event from the start. With the help of the committee team, this event went well from start to finish.
Taking the topic “Traditional Arts as Indonesian Cultural Heritage”, the Summer Course BIPA 2022 event invited 7 presenters to introduce Indonesian culture to participants who are international students. The materials for introducing Indonesian culture include wayang kulit, wayang potehi, wayang golek, wayang beber, wayang cepak, xylophone Semarang, classical and contemporary dance, ketoprak, ballet, and sintren.
On the first day of opening, the 2022 BIPA Summer Course was welcomed by the Deputy Dean of FCS, Dr. Alamsyah, M. Hum. On this first day, participants were given materials on traditional Indonesian games which were presented interactively by Wati Istanti, M.Pd. At the end of the first day of the meeting, Wati Istanti, M.Pd., one of the teachers at UNNES, even invited the participants to play.
On the second day, the speakers who filled the 2022 BIPA Summer Course were Arido Laksono M. Hum., who explained wayang kulit and wayang potehi, and Vladimir Kiri who explained Sundanese wayang. On the third day, the material about kethoprak was presented by Dr. Sukarjo Waluyo, M. Hum. Then, it was continued with material about types of traditional dance by Wati Istanti, M.Pd. in the same day. On the fourth day, on Thursday, August 11, 2022, the participants received a cultural introduction about Gambang Semarang from Dr. Dhanang Respati P., M. Hum. and about Sintren art from Dr. Ken Widyatwati, M. Hum. The participants seemed to show the same enthusiasm on the fifth day when they got knowledge about classical dance and contemporary Indonesian dance performed by Wati Istanti, M.Pd.
The interesting thing on the sixth day was that the speakers came from abroad, namely Vladimir Kiri from Russia and John Bosco from Uganda. Vladimir Kiri explained about wayang beber and wayang cepak to the participants of the 2022 BIPA Summer Course. After that, John Bosco explained his experiences interacting with Indonesian culture: batik, wood carving, culinary, traditional games, and tours.
On the final day of the 2022 BIPA Summer Course, the participants presented a presentation about the culture of the participants’ countries of origin. The presentation of the participants was accompanied by a speaker who had filled in the previous day, Wati Istanti, M.Pd. and Arido Laksono M.Hum.. After the presentation was over, the event continued with a closing session filled with Dr. Sukarjo Waluyo, M. Hum. The continuation of the Summer Course BIPA 2022 for seven days is closed with the hope of Laura Andri Retno, S.S., M.A., as the PIC so that participants can benefit from the series of events that have been undertaken.
