Intellectual strength and the continuity of knowledge transfer, one of the parameters is research and scientific meetings. The higher the scientific meeting according to scientific clumps, the higher the productivity of the research findings. Along with the development of research energy, an increase in human resources can be achieved, especially improving the quality of lecturers, especially young lecturers.
The positive impact that arises is the birth of lecturers with quality research, productive in scientific writing published in reputable journals, and transfer of knowledge to students based on research results. In order for the academic climate to become an aura of life for lecturers and students, it is necessary to facilitate a scientific forum that is adequate and accommodating. Scientific forums can be used as a place to accommodate and accommodate the scientific presentation of research results in the field of Indonesian language and literature conducted by lecturers and students, namely the Scientific Meeting of Indonesian Language and Literature (PIBSI). In order to increase cooperation between study programs in Central Java-DIY and scientific publications of the results of language and literature research, the Indonesian Literature study program, Diponegoro University, held an international seminar by inviting several speakers, including: Dr. Dick Van Meij (Univ. Leiden, Netherlands), Prof. Hywel Coleman, M.A. (Leed University, UK), Prof. Dr. Mawar Safei (University Kebangsaan Malaysia), and Jonathan Moore from the USA, as well as the chair of the event by Dr. Muh. Abdullah, M.A., also head of the Indonesian Literature study program Undip.
The event was held for two days, on Tuesday and Wednesday, 7 and 8 November 2017 at Balemong Resort, Patimura street No. 1B, West Ungaran, Semarang, was attended by participants who work as lecturers and students of Indonesian Language and Literature study programs in Central Java and D.I. Yogyakarta. There are several art performances that enliven this international seminar, such as Poetry Reading, Emper Theater, Saman Dance, and Gambang Semarang. In addition, sponsorships that support this event are from Suara Merdeka, Wawasan, BNI, Bank Mandiri, Bank BTN, LPPM. , Alumni, PT Djarum, PT Pertamina.
The seminar which has the theme “Strengthening the Dignification of Indonesian Language and Literature to Strengthen National Culture in the Era of Global Society”, hopes that it can improve the quality of research and scientific work, both for national accredited journals, as well as for international publications.
