Ketoprak Performance “Ande-Ande Lumut”: Production Indonesian Literature Lecturer Presents Creative Collaboration between FIB Undip Community and Sri Mulyo Ketoprak Studio

Sasindo – In an effort to preserve and develop traditional Indonesian arts, particularly ketoprak, the Faculty of Cultural Sciences at Diponegoro University (FIB Undip) once again presents a captivating performance: a ketoprak performance titled Ande-Ande Lumut. This performance is led by Laura Andri R.M., S.S., M.A., an Indonesian Literature lecturer and production manager who plays a crucial role in professionally and enthusiastically organizing this event.

The Ande-Ande Lumut ketoprak performance, part of the 60th anniversary celebrations, was staged at the FIB Undip Multipurpose Building (GSG) on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 7:00 p.m.

The uniqueness of this performance lies in the collaboration between various elements of the FIB Undip academic community, ranging from professors, lecturers, educational staff (tendik), to students. With a spirit of kinship and close cooperation, they worked hand in hand to create a work of art rich in Javanese culture, as well as a practical learning vehicle rich in meaning and experience.

Not only internal to the campus, this performance also involves collaboration with Sanggar Ketoprak Sri Mulyo, an art studio known for its dedication to reviving the art of ketoprak with an authentic and innovative approach. The synergy between academics and art practitioners has resulted in a performance that not only entertains but also educates and inspires the audience.

Ande-Ande Lumut tells the story of Panji Inu Kertapati, who has just married Princess Galuh Candra Kirana. However, due to a major incident, the princess is expelled from the palace. This makes Panji Inu Kertapati distraught, and he disguises himself as a commoner named Ande-Ande Lumut to search for his soulmate.

This performance not only showcased the beauty of Javanese folklore, but also presented moral messages relevant to modern life. This performance is clear evidence that traditional arts can continue to live and thrive through collaboration and shared commitment from various parties.

Dr. Sukarjo Waluyo, S.S., M.Hum., Head of the Indonesian Literature Study Program at FIB Undip, appreciated this ketoprak performance. He hoped that this would inspire Sasindo FIB Undip lecturers and other students to actively participate in various activities in other Indonesian Literature Study Programs.
