Pilmapres or Student Achievement Election is a student competition organized by the Directorate General of Learning and Student Affairs which is under the auspices of the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education. This program aims to give the highest appreciation to the best students who are ready to become agents of change to build a better Indonesia.

In the period March 3-10 2023, the Faculty of Humanities opens registration for all students who are interested in taking part in this prestigious program. Of course, many were interested in registering, including Evi Yanti Agustin, a student at the Undip Indonesian Literature Study Program.

After registering, several stages must be passed by participants. These stages are the national insight test, English language test, written idea presentation test, superior achievement validation, and English discussion test.

Evi has prepared herself for this Pilmapres since she was a freshman. He tries to take part in various kinds of competitions in the field of research writing. Apart from that, he also prepared himself by participating in various organizations and creating innovations in his field of knowledge, namely the use of wayang as education for children. Lastly, he prepared himself by practicing his English skills so he could show his best results in front of the jury.

With the various preparations that Evi has worked on, she won third place in the 2023 FIB UNDIP Pilmapres Delegation. Not only that, but Evi also succeeded in becoming the youngest delegate chosen because she came from the Class of 2022. According to Evi, several strategies can be used to achieve this achievement, namely self- exploration to dare to try new things such as participating in competitions, organizations, and volunteering. “Never be afraid to start, even though it looks impossible, at least we dare to try to get life lessons, namely experience,” said Evi.

Dr. Sukarjo Waluyo, M.Hum as the Head of the Indonesian Literature Study Program gave his appreciation and was also proud of the achievements of his students. He hopes that in the future the Indonesian Literature Study Program can continue to win positions in the Pilmapres and also various other competitions (Kristy)
