Getting to Know: Eva Ardiana Indrariani, a Dedicated Indonesian Literature Alumni from Diponegoro University

Semarang – Amidst the hustle and bustle of campus life, some students choose to be active in organizations, others focus on academic achievement, and still others are embarking on their first careers. It’s rare to find someone who can brilliantly balance all three while continuing to leave an inspiring legacy. However, that’s not the case for Eva Ardiana Indrariani, S.S., M.Hum, an alumna of the Indonesian Literature study program, Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB), Diponegoro University (Undip). Her story is a true manifestation of the popular Arabic proverb: “Man Jadda Wa Jadda” – whoever is serious will succeed.

The name Eva Ardiana Indrariani, S.S., M.Hum is probably familiar to the academic community of Diponegoro University (Undip), especially the Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB). This Indonesian Literature alumna is no ordinary alumna. Her story is a vivid illustration of how dedication, activeness, and a drive to achieve success since college led her to strategic positions and the highest levels of education.

During her studies in Indonesian Literature at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Diponegoro University (Undip), Eva Ardiana Indrariani was known as a student with boundless energy. She was active in various student organizations. She unhesitatingly participated in student initiatives, honing her leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. However, her active participation in organizations was balanced with a stellar academic record, demonstrating her ability to effectively balance her time between organizational responsibilities and the demands of her studies.

Furthermore, Eva also utilized her time to develop herself outside of campus. She dedicated herself as a tutor at a tutoring center, applying her knowledge of language and literature to help other students reach their full potential. Furthermore, her research spirit was also honed from an early age. Eva frequently assisted lecturers by serving as an assistant in the BIP program and assisting with research on various research projects, a valuable experience that gave her a deep understanding of methodology and data analysis long before she entered graduate school.

“My principle is that I came to Semarang to study, so I have a goal to finish college and continue on to the next level. Dividing my time between studying, organizing, teaching, and assisting in research is indeed challenging, but it has shaped me into a more resilient person and prepared me to face future challenges. Man Jadda Wa Jadda, I believe that every sincere effort, no matter how small, will bear fruit,” she recalled.

After completing her Bachelor of Literature (S.S.) and Master of Humanities (M.Hum) degrees, Eva Ardiana Indrariani continues to demonstrate her commitment to education and scientific development. The Head of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program at Universitas PGRI Semarang (UPGRIS), she is currently pursuing her highest-level education, a Doctoral Program (S3) at Sebelas Maret University (UNS). In addition to her studies, Eva Ardiana Indrariani is also active in various associations, including serving as secretary of an association at the central level.

The role of Head of Study Program is not simply a position, but a significant mandate to advance the quality of education, develop the curriculum, and mentor students who will become future Indonesian language and literature teachers. Eva’s leadership at UPGRIS is a testament to her academic and managerial capabilities, which are undoubtedly the result of accumulated experience and learnings from her time at university.

Becoming Head of Study Program at a relatively young age, and being an Undip alumna, certainly brings pride to her alma mater. Eva demonstrates that Indonesian Literature graduates have the capacity to become adaptive and visionary academic leaders.

Dr. Sukarjo Waluyo, M.Hum., Head of the Indonesian Literature Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Undip, wished Eva Ardiana Indrariani, S.S., M.Hum., continued her success in her further studies. He also expressed his appreciation for the dedication and full support of alumni in various fields. He also hoped that the alumni network would motivate and enhance the achievements of other Indonesian Literature Study Program students, leading them to excel and bring pride to their alma mater and themselves.
